What Are the 7 Chakras and How Can They Guide Your Spring Reset?

If you’ve ever felt stuck, scattered, or just off — like something is blocked but you can’t quite name it — you might already understand chakras intuitively, even if you’ve never used that word for it.

The chakra system has its roots in ancient Hindu and Vedic traditions, with origins going back thousands of years in sacred texts like the Vedas and Upanishads. It has also been part of Tantric Buddhist practice. I approach this wisdom with deep respect and gratitude for the traditions it comes from, and I’m honored to incorporate it into my art as someone who has found genuine healing through these teachings.

Chakras are energy centers in the body. There are seven main ones, each connected to a different area of your physical and emotional life. When they’re flowing freely, things feel good. When they’re blocked, you feel it.

Spring is one of the best times to check in with your chakras. The season itself is about renewal, growth, and releasing what no longer serves you — which is exactly what chakra work is about too.

Here’s a quick look at all seven:

Root ChakraMuladhara (मूलाधार) Red — safety, stability, and feeling grounded. Spring is a great time to reconnect with the earth — literally. Get outside and put your feet on the ground.

Sacral ChakraSvadhisthana (स्वाधिष्ठान) Orange — creativity, pleasure, and flow. As the world comes back to life, let yourself create something just for the joy of it.

Solar Plexus ChakraManipura (मणिपूर) Yellow — confidence and personal power. Spring is the season to step back into yourself after a long winter of turning inward.

Heart ChakraAnahata (अनाहत) Green — love, compassion, and connection. Open the windows. Let people in. Extend that same softness to yourself.

Throat ChakraVishuddha (विशुद्ध) Blue — expression and truth. What have you been holding back? Spring is a good time to finally say it.

Third Eye ChakraAjna (आज्ञा) Indigo — intuition and clarity. Trust what you’ve been sensing. Your instincts are good.

Crown ChakraSahasrara (सहस्रार) Violet/White — connection to something bigger than yourself. Spend time in nature. Get quiet. Listen.

At breathemovedivine, chakra energy is woven into a lot of my artwork — including the 7 Chakras collection, which was created to honor all seven energy centers in one vibrant, cohesive piece. My goal is always to create with intention and humility, celebrating these traditions rather than flattening them.

This spring, let your reset go deeper than just cleaning out your closet. Check in with your energy. Notice what needs attention. And give yourself permission to bloom.
